Das Oberflächenwetter auf Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus und Neptun könnte der Wissenschaft dabei helfen, auch deren Inneres zu verstehen. Raumsonden lieferten bisher nur Bilder und Messungen aus den Atmosphären der Planeten, die hauptsächlich aus Wasserstoff bestehen.
